UPDATE!   Our Adopted Child in Haiti
Thanks to all those who contributed towards our adopted child in Haiti. We have reached our financial goal. St. Timothy's is privileged to sponsor Davidson, a beautiful boy who lives in the Be Like Brit Orphanage in Grand Goave, Haiti. Every dollar of our donation goes directly to the Orphanage, with no administration fees. Davidson is thriving in school and religious studies in a loving environment with 66 of his brothers and sisters, who we hope will be the next leaders of Haiti. See the yellow poster at the back of St. Timothy’s for photos of Davidson and his homeland. Questions? See organizer and mission
worker, Jill Yates at St. Timothy's.

Get Ready Early - Deals and Discounts for Shoeboxes
Back-to-school sales of hygiene and school supplies are on. It's a great time to pick up toothbrushes, pencils, deodorant, socks, soap, pens and paper, etc. for our two shoebox programs. Every year in November we participate in Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan's Purse. This is an initiative to provide small gifts to children in developing countries. These may include toys, hair and health products as well as school supplies. In early December we gather items for Missions to Seafarer's shoebox gifts for those sailors who visit the Port of Halifax over Christmas. These boxes include shaving gear, packs of cards, stationary, soap, etc. Start collecting now while there are sales on. Watch for details for collection times.

UPDATE!  Vocational Process for Sheri Gallivan
Sheri Gallivan is discerning a call to be an Associate Priest in our Parish. This week she was declared officially as a “postulant”. A postulant is a person who has been accepted by the bishop as a candidate for ordination, and is in the process of being trained. On June 14th Rev. Bert Chestnut,
the coordinator, spoke about this prayerful process for Sheri and our congregations (see Parish website for the sermon audio link www.stsp.ca). Over the next while Sheri will continue her studies at Atlantic  School of Theology and move forward in her discernment. Congratulations to Sheri and her family!

whirlChildren’s Discovery Program

This is for kids, ages 4 and up and held in St. Timothy’s Hall every Sunday at 11 a.m.  Any and all children are invited to attend this dynamic discovery program, regardless of any church connection.  Registration may be done any Sunday.

“WHIRL” brings youth into the life of the church with a lectionary-centered curriculum that is fun for kids and simple for leaders to use.  Every WHIRL lesson follows a four-part sequence:  welcome, hear, respond and launch (WHIRL).  Each week, kids and leaders start their time together by identifying where they are in the church year and by watching an animated video to set up the lesson.  Next, they dive into the WHIRL Story or NRSV Bible together, responde to the scripture lesson with creative leaflet activities and circle up to review the lesson and pray before being sent out.

Automatic Monthly Giving

E-mail Print

Monthly giving is one way in which parishioners can help support the ministries of our church.

Applications are available at St. Timothy’s for setting up pre-authorized offerings through a monthly debit system. An easy way to support the ministries of the Church, this cuts down on administrative costs, eliminates catching-up on offerings if you’ve been away or in having to have cash or cheques ready for Sunday services. Forms are at the back table.

For those who use offering envelopes - 2014 box of offering envelopes are available at the rear of the church on the back seat.  If you give, ensure you get a charitable receipt by listing your name and phone number on the sheet beside the boxes.  PLEASE NOTE:  Some box numbers have changed.  Be careful if you are using outdated envelopes.

We have a Lending Library at the back of the church.  Three shelves on the back wall, near the entrance have been designated as lending resources.  There are may Christian books there now.  Help yourself.  If you have any good used FAITH books (non-fiction or fiction) to donate,  please give them to Pastor Lisa or drop them off to the Parish Office, we'll stamp them "St. Timothy's" and set them up for lending
